Posture - By Paula Moore -- Video Playlist

"My name is Paula Moore and I’m an on-line video blogging posture fanatic. I use videos to teach people good posture so they age well.
I came into chiropractic 20 years ago, living in Toronto and suffering daily headaches. Chiropractic resolved my headaches quickly and I was so amazed that I up and moved to the UK to study chiropractic.
There was one issue, one bugbear, one total frustration throughout my chiropractic training and many years that followed. I HATED MY POSTURE.  This drove me to distraction. I was ashamed to be a chiropractor with bad posture.
I tried everything. I trained with top posture experts like Professor Stuart McGill and I even qualified with a fellowship in the Clinical Biomechanics of Posture (another two years on top of the first five). I had x-rays taken of my neck and they confirmed what I feared. My posture was beginning to look like my mothers.
One morning though, I woke and I looked at my posture in the mirror-this day I saw something different. The penny dropped. All along I’d been telling my patients to look at their WHOLE body. I wanted them to understand that they didn’t have a low back problem, a shoulder problem,  a knee problem but a problem with their body as 1 whole. I had forgotten my own Golden Rule.
This moment may just have changed my life because it was at this moment that I began creating posture videos from the exercises I put together to correct my own unattractive forward head posture."

Reflexology Foot Massage in Practice

.

Uploaded by on Aug 30, 2010
http://www.happyfeet.com/Kenkoh.aspx Reflexology, often called Zone Therapy evolved in East Asia. This ancient, holistic foot pressure therapy continues to grow in popularity today.

Reflexology is a type of alternative medicine, safe method of reducing pain through the application of pressure to specific locations in the hands and feet. Practitioners believe the body is segmented into vertical zones. Through the application of pressure to the corresponding parts of the hands and feet, reflexologist perform their healing. Reflexology should be used in addition to other medical treatments. It shouldn't be used as a replacement.

While the technique and technique of reflexology foot massages dates back to ancient times throughout Egypt and Asia, the more modernized versions are being introduced into holistic healing centers all around the nation. While there are modernized methods, several things in this treatment have not changed. Focused pressure, also referred to as "reflex" are placed on specific points in the foot. Each area, or zone, on the foot is targeted to relieve pain in different areas in the body. There is even a reflexology sandal developed from the Japanese company Kenkoh, which has been studied and positively reviewed by Kyoto University, in Japan.

Benefits of reflexology zone therapy include increased blood circulation, greater relaxation, a more well rested sleep and a greater feeling of relaxation . The massages are said to release tension and lower stress as well as create a greater feeling of well being.

Aside from the obvious circulation benefits, zone therapy foot massage also targets zone within the body that will allow the human body to release toxins that may be stored in organs and tissues. By rejuvenating these cells, your body will feel rejuvenated and balanced emotionally and physically. The body will then be successfully grounded and you will appreciate a new-found energy.

Modern reflexology and zone therapy is a result of the research of Sir Henry Head in the 1890's. While there is not yet proven scientific evidence that the "zones" stimulate and manipulate human energy in the body, those who receive these treatments insist they feel the difference. Add this alternative form of treatment to your health routine can rejuvenate your body and your mind.

Wellness - Conscious-Subconscious/Self-talk - Part 3

This class is part of a series relating to the functions of the conscious and the subconscious. The fundamental choices of conscious thought and words influence the power of the subconscious. The subconscious is compared to a computer that has millions of programs running and the conscious is the aspect that analyzes, judges and chooses what programs to run. When the conscious is not actively engaged in focusing on a particular program, the subconscious programming takes over.

---------------- What are theta brainwaves? ---------------

Theta brainwaves are considered extremely relaxing brainwave activity that is commonly associated with sleep and dreaming. Theta brainwaves are high in amplitude and cycle within the range of 4 -- 8 Hz and are usually generated in the brains right hemisphere. Theta waves kick in when we feel emotional, relaxed, daydreamy, unfocused, or are asleep. Theta brainwaves are generally thought of as the brainwaves that are dominant in people with A.D.D., high levels of relaxation, high levels of creativity, and random thinking. The theta brainwave is considered the brainwave pattern that is dominant in deeply relaxed, dream sleep.

Theta brain waves typically range from 4 Hz to 8 Hz. Theta brain waves are associated with the "subconscious mind" and are usually produced in the right-hemisphere of the brain - as opposed to beta brain waves, which are produced in the left-hemisphere and are associated with the "conscious mind." The brain creates theta brain wave rhythms each time you are in "dream sleep." Also, during R.E.M. [Rapid-Eye Movement] sleep, the brain is full of theta brain wave activity.

Nearly 3/5 of your entire time spent sleeping at night involves the production of theta brain waves in your brain. Many individuals also are able to access theta brain waves when they are: driving for a long stretch on the highway, practicing their meditation routine, using a self-hypnosis recording, or practicing other forms of deep relaxation. When you are able to consciously access the alpha brain waves state, you are just one step away from accessing the depths of theta.

What's cool about theta brain waves is the fact that they allow you to connect with your "subconscious mind." The subconscious mind is the place where all experiences, long-term memories, natural creativity, powerful emotions, spiritual connections, and inspiration are all stored. Think of the "subconscious mind" as one big, infinite storage space for "everything" in your life. The theta brain waves are extremely helpful for healing the body of injury and the mind of diseased-states

--------------Benefits of increasing theta brainwaves----------

•Deep levels of relaxation
•Bridges the spiritual connection
•O.O.B.E. , Astral Projection, Esp, Other related phenomenon
•Advanced intuition
•Subconscious connection
•Ability to program subconscious mind
•Emotional connection
•Peak levels of creativity
•Advanced problem solving skills
•Large boost in learning ability
•Improved long-term memory
•Ability to hyperfocus
•Lower anxiety, stress, and neurosis
•Healing of body and mind

Gregg Braden on Curing Cancer using our own Technology of Emotion

Uploaded by on Nov 14, 2010

Gregg Braden presents a video showing cancer being cured in less than 3 minutes using the language of emotion. Using the technology of emotion that's inside all of us and mirror that expection to the field that's all around us. You must feel the feeling as if it has already happened.
These clips are from a presentation called "Language of the Divine Matrix" recorded in Italy, May 30th 2007. During the video you will see the screen hidden at times but you are not missing anything since that entire part is shown right before as you will see for yourselves.

Cancer can only manifest if we forget the true nature of who we really are. That is if we don't live our lives the way that is best for us, that is true to us and if we keep doing that for too long. It's not our fault it's come to this. We have been deceived and deluded from the truth about who we really are. We just have to remember! We are doing that right now all over the planet.

Antidepressants and Placebo Controversies

Uploaded by on Nov 4, 2011

A number of studies in recent years seemed to conclude that antidepressants were little more effective than placebos for the treatment of clinical depression. The media attention surrounding these studies created controversy among practitioners and confusion in the public. Karen L. Swartz, M.D. explains the source of the controversy, the important details in the study designs, and places the findings in context of clinical practice. This lecture was delivered at the Johns Hopkins 25th Annual Mood Disorders Research/Education Symposium on April 5, 2011.

"Placebo: Cracking the Code"

(*NOTE: there are some silent gaps at the end of parts 1, 2, & 3 of the documentary that need to be skipped manually)

Fascinating documentary about the science and psychology of placebos, featuring members of the the Harvard Placebo Study Group, "Placebo: Cracking the Code" examines the power of belief in alleviating pain, curing disease, and the healing of injuries.

The placebo effect is a pervasive, albeit misunderstood, phenomenon in medicine. In the UK, over 60% of doctors surveyed said they had prescribed placebos in regular clinical practice. In a recent Times Magazine article, 96% of US physicians surveyed stated that they believe that placebo treatments have real therapeutic effects.

Work on the placebo effect received an intellectual boost when the Harvard Placebo Study Group was founded at the beginning of 2001. This group is part of the Mind-Brain-Behavior Initiative at Harvard University, and its main characteristic is the interdisciplinary approach to the placebo phenomenon. The group is made up of 8 members: Anne Harrington (Historian of Science at Harvard), Howard Fields (Neuroscientist at Univ. of California in San Francisco), Dan Moerman (Anthropologist at Univ. of Michigan), Nick Humphrey (Evolutionary Psychologist at London School of Economics), Dan Wegner (Psychologist at Harvard), Jamie Pennebaker (Psychologist at Univ. of Texas in Austin), Ginger Hoffman (Behavioral Geneticist at Harvard) and Fabrizio Benedetti (Neuroscientist at Univ. of Turin).

Manly Hall - Spinal Column & the Kundalini

Uploaded by on Jul 20, 2011

Manly Palmer Hall was a Canadian-born author and mystic. He is perhaps most famous for his work The Secret Teachings of All Ages: An Encyclopedic Outline of Masonic, Hermetic, Qabbalistic and Rosicrucian Symbolical Philosophy, which is widely regarded as his magnum opus, and which he published at the age of 27.

He has been widely recognized as a leading scholar in the fields of religion, mythology, mysticism, and the occult.

In 1934, Hall founded the Philosophical Research Society (PRS) in Los Angeles, California, dedicating it to an idealistic approach to the solution of human problems. The PRS claims to be non-sectarian and entirely free from educational, political, or ecclesiastical control, and the Society's programs stress the need for the integration of philosophy, religion, and science into one system of instruction. The PRS Library, a public facility devoted to source materials in obscure fields, has many rare and scarce items now impossible to obtain elsewhere.

In 1973 (47 years after writing The Secret Teachings of All Ages), Hall was recognized as a 33º Mason (the highest honor conferred by the Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite), at a ceremony held at PRS on December 8th, despite never being initiated into the physical craft.

In his over 70-year career, Hall delivered approximately 8,000 lectures in the United States and abroad, authored over 150 books and essays, and wrote countless magazine articles.

Dr Chikly's Overview of Lymph Drainage Therapy Level 1 (LDT1)

Uploaded by on Aug 20, 2011

Dr. Bruno Chikly gives an overview of LDT1 with C.M. Snow Nemeth.
ChiklyInstitute.com
Lymph Drainage Therapy is an innovative hands-on method of lymphatic drainage developed by Bruno Chikly, MD, DO. It has been created out of his award-winning research on the lymphatic system consistent with recent scientific discoveries.
LDT is the first technique that enables practitioners to detect and palpate the specific rhythm, direction, depth and quality of the lymph flow anywhere in the body. With these skills, practitioners can practice Manual Lymphatic Mapping (MLM) of the lymphatic vessels. With developed listening skills LDT practitioners are able to use their hands to assess and enhance overall circulation as well as determine the best alternate pathways for draining stagnant body fluid (lymph, interstitial, synovial fluid, etc...).
Lymph Drainage Therapy has been taught for more than 13 years to about 10,000 therapists throughout the world.
LDT is a gentle technique that works through the body's interstitial and lymphatic system to activate the body liquid circulation and stimulate the functioning of the immune and parasympathetic nervous systems.
Advanced LDT practitioners develop the skill to perceive and respond to the body's innate ability to heal itself. The practitioner can then reroute the lymph by following the subtle indications given by the body enhancing the healing process. This eliminates mental mistakes in assuming we know what the body needs and therefore enforcing pathways that are not optimal. Honoring the intelligence of the body ensures deeper and long lasting results.
Advanced practitioners are taught how to "map" the lymphatic pathways with their hands (Manual Lymphatic Mapping -- MLM) as well as to assess the client before, during and after the session. They also discover how to identify precise areas of the body where there is fluid stagnation or fibrosis, and then find the most appropriate pathways for drainage.
Trained students learn how to work with mucosa, muscles, fascia, tendons, periosteum, most viscera, chambers of the eyes, dura, pia, interstitial, synovial fluid, and blood vessels.
LDT also includes advanced techniques such as Lympho-Fascia Release (LFR) to simultaneously release lesions in the fascia and fluid of the body. These techniques can be applied to viscera, ligaments, tendons, trigger points or fascia in the body
Another branch of LDT will use specific techniques for the synovial fluid to release joints in the body, including articulations rarely addressed such as the embryological articulations (LAFR).
